Three talented young tennis players from Karnataka have been chosen to represent India at the ITF Asia 14 & Under Development Championship 2026 Finals in Colombo, Sri Lanka. This tournament is highly competitive in the Asian junior circuit for the Under-14 category and showcases some of the region’s most promising players. Srishti Kiran, Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar, and Puneeth Manohar will be part of the Indian squad, with Taanish Nanda from Punjab completing the four-member team.
The selection of these players highlights Karnataka’s emergence as a key hub for junior tennis development in India. The state’s focus on grassroots programs and providing competitive opportunities has facilitated a smooth transition for young talents to the national level. Sunil Yajaman, the joint secretary of the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA), commended the players for their hard work and discipline, expressing pride in their achievements. He also acknowledged the crucial role played by the players’ coaches and parents in supporting their journey to the national team.
With a strong contingent from Karnataka, India aims to make a significant impact at the upcoming championship in Colombo.
