Several members of the Kashmiri diaspora in the United Kingdom gathered outside the Pakistan High Commission in London to denounce the violent actions of Pakistani forces in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and to demand the restoration of human rights in the region. The protest occurred amidst ongoing turmoil in PoK, with reports of civilian casualties and a severe clampdown by Pakistani authorities.
The Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) organized a large demonstration in London in solidarity with the Kashmiri people, condemning what they termed as the “genocide of innocent Kashmiris.” The group emphasized their support for their Kashmiri brethren and their resistance against oppression.
In a separate event, the UK chapter of Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) highlighted the participation of overseas Kashmiris in a significant march in London to protest against the alleged brutality of state forces in PoK and to call for the upholding of human rights. British lawmaker Imran Hussain urged the Prime Minister of Pakistan to end the lockdown, restore communications, and engage in peaceful negotiations, prioritizing the well-being of Kashmiris in PoK.
