Kerala’s Christmas-New Year Bumper lottery has broken records with ticket sales exceeding 5 million before the draw, showcasing the enduring popularity of the state lottery. The current sales of 5.17 million tickets have surpassed last year’s 4.76 million, with a massive Rs 20-crore first prize driving the surge in demand. As the draw date nears, ticket sales continue to soar, leading to the release of an additional 5 lakh tickets into the market.
District-wise sales data highlights Palakkad as the top performer, selling over 12.2 lakh tickets, followed by Thrissur with 5.44 lakh tickets and Thiruvananthapuram with 5.15 lakh tickets. Kollam and Kannur have also seen significant sales, with 3.34 lakh and 3.11 lakh tickets sold, respectively. The lottery offers diverse prize categories, including 20 winners of Rs 1 crore each for the second prize and 20 winners of Rs 10 lakh each for the third prize.
Furthermore, the draw will award fourth and fifth prizes of Rs 3 lakh and Rs 2 lakh to 20 winners each, along with nine consolation prizes of Rs 1 lakh for the non-bumper prize series. The lottery’s appeal is further broadened by smaller cash prizes ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 5,000, totaling nearly 6.22 lakh winning tickets. Priced at Rs 400, the BR 107 Christmas-New Year Bumper is available in ten series, with the draw scheduled for January 24 in Thiruvananthapuram, creating anticipation across Kerala for the life-changing fortunes awaiting the winners.
