The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) faced a setback as it had to cancel a statewide recruitment examination in Alappuzha following a question paper mix-up. The Last Grade Servants (LGS) and Storeman recruitment tests, scheduled for posts requiring SSLC qualification, were affected.
The cancellation was attributed to technical reasons by the PSC. At the Lajanath School examination center in Alappuzha, the question paper meant for the afternoon session was mistakenly given to candidates appearing for the morning exam. This error led to the cancellation of the afternoon session across the state.
Due to this incident, thousands of candidates who had prepared for months and were already at their exam centers faced significant inconvenience. The situation has sparked calls for a thorough investigation into the administrative and security lapses during the examination process.
The PSC, currently under scrutiny for alleged irregularities in previous recruitments, is facing a credibility crisis. The cancellation of the exam adds to the existing concerns over transparency and integrity in its recruitment procedures. The Commission has promised to announce new dates for the examinations soon.
