Kolkata Royal Tigers clinched their maiden win in Season 3 of the Bengal T20 League with a hard-fought one-run triumph over Servotech Siliguri Strikers at Eden Gardens. Royal Tigers, batting first, scored 147/9 in 20 overs, led by Abishek Porel’s 76 off 53 balls and Ritwik Roy Chowdhury’s 33 off 27 deliveries. Siliguri Strikers’ Ishan Porel (3-24), Geet Puri (2-28), and Kaushik Maity (2-17) excelled with the ball.
Chasing the target, Siliguri Strikers’ Karan (46 off 35) and Sudip Chatterjee (35 off 31) provided a solid start. Vishal Bhati’s 18 off 15 also contributed to their chase. However, Sourav Halder’s hat-trick in the 13th over, dismissing key batsmen, shifted the momentum towards Royal Tigers. Despite a late fightback by Pramod Chandila (35 off 23), Siliguri Strikers fell short, scoring 146/7 in 20 overs.
Sourav Halder shone with the ball for Royal Tigers, claiming 4 for 22, while Sayan Ghosh (2-25) and Ashutosh Kumar (1-25) supported effectively.
In another match, Sobisco Smashers Malda secured an emphatic eight-wicket win over Adamas Howrah Warriors. Adamas Howrah Warriors posted 132 in 20 overs, with Shashank Singh’s 60 being the standout performance. Malda’s Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal took four wickets, while Mukesh Kumar grabbed three. Malda comfortably chased down the target, reaching 136/2 in just 13.4 overs, with Abhimanyu Easwaran’s 58 off 37 and Akhil’s quick 41 off 21 guiding them to victory.
