Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar emphasized the need for collective action to protect citizens’ voting rights during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Addressing the ‘Congress Nade, Mata Rakshane Kade’ event in Devanahalli, Shivakumar stressed the importance of ensuring that no individual is denied their right to vote. He called for providing necessary documents to citizens to safeguard their voting rights and urged cooperation with election authorities.

Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are currently distributing enumeration forms that need to be completed and submitted along with the required documents. Shivakumar clarified that this process is not about mapping but about ensuring that the forms are duly filled and submitted to election officers. He highlighted the significance of training party workers for this purpose and urged BLOs to work together impartially to protect everyone’s voting rights, setting aside political differences.

In a bid to ensure active participation, Shivakumar warned of disciplinary measures against party officials and office-bearers who did not attend the campaign-related meeting. Ministers and MLAs were directed to prioritize this task, with consequences for those showing disinterest in party organization. When questioned about potential protests against the SIR process, Shivakumar stated that the focus would be on raising awareness rather than engaging in demonstrations.
