Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Kuwaiti Armed Forces have apprehended individuals linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran on Bubiyan Island. The arrested infiltrators, reportedly affiliated with the IRGC, were intercepted while attempting to enter Kuwait by sea. The Ministry of Interior disclosed that the infiltrators confessed to planning hostile actions against Kuwait, leading to a confrontation with Kuwaiti forces that resulted in injuries and the escape of two suspects.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the IRGC’s incursion into Bubiyan Island for hostile purposes. The ministry demanded Iran to immediately halt such actions that jeopardize regional security and disrupt international de-escalation efforts. Emphasizing Kuwait’s commitment to good neighborly relations, the ministry denounced the violation of its sovereignty by Iran and labeled the incursion as a breach of international law and the UN Charter. Kuwait reiterated its right to self-defense under the UN Charter’s Article 51 and vowed to protect its sovereignty and residents within legal boundaries.
