Labour Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is scheduled to inaugurate seven Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Healthcare projects in various parts of India. These projects, valued at around Rs 668 crore, aim to serve approximately 53 lakh beneficiaries nationwide. The inauguration will include the new Outpatient Department (OPD) Block at ESIC Hospital, Sanathnagar, along with six other projects virtually inaugurated across different states.
Shobha Karandlaje, Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, will also be present at the event. The new OPD Block at ESIC Medical College and Hospital in Sanathnagar will offer modern outpatient services to over 12 lakh insured persons and beneficiaries in Telangana. This initiative is part of the efforts to enhance the ESI healthcare system in the region, initially introduced in Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
The ESIC Hospital in Beltola, Assam, serves multiple districts in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, and Arunachal Pradesh. It is expected to benefit around 3.42 lakh insured persons and over 13 lakh beneficiaries. Similarly, the 100-bedded ESIC Hospital in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, will provide essential medical facilities to more than 5.5 lakh insured persons from Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur Districts.
The ESIS Hospital in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh, will cater to about 131,190 insured persons and over 252,000 beneficiaries. In Surendranagar, Gujarat, approximately 9,192 insured persons will benefit from the ESI Dispensary and Branch Office, extending medical care to around 35,000 beneficiaries. Additionally, the ESI facilities in Udyog Nagar, Kota, and Bhawani Mandi, Rajasthan, will provide healthcare services to insured workers and their dependents in these industrial areas.
