India’s Lakshya Sen secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the All England Open after defeating Hong Kong’s NG Ka Long Angus in a challenging match. Sen, who recently beat the top seed in the tournament, clinched victory over NG with a score of 21-19, 21-23, 21-10 in an intense battle lasting over an hour.
Sen, a finalist in the 2022 All England tournament, started strong against NG, maintaining a lead throughout the first game. Despite a comeback from NG towards the end of the game, Sen managed to secure the win. In the second game, Sen initially dominated but faced a resilient NG who forced a decider.
Despite facing setbacks in the second game, Sen regrouped in the third game, displaying a commanding performance with powerful smashes. Sen’s strategic play and determination paid off as he sealed the victory, setting up a quarterfinal clash against either Li Shi Feng of China or Nhat Nguyen of Ireland.
