RJD national president Lalu Prasad Yadav joined a ‘dahi-chura’ feast organized by his son Tej Pratap Yadav in Patna on Makar Sankranti. This gesture is viewed as a display of family unity amidst ongoing political rumors. Lalu not only participated in the event but also blessed Tej Pratap for a successful political future.
Tej Pratap had personally invited his parents and brother for the celebration, with Lalu being one of the first senior leaders to arrive. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan was also in attendance, sharing a warm moment with Lalu Prasad. Maternal uncles of Tej Pratap and a JD(U) MLA were among the guests at the feast, which saw the presence of leaders from various political parties.
Tej Pratap’s hosting of the feast has sparked speculation about his political intentions, especially after he attended a similar event hosted by the Deputy Chief Minister. Despite the event’s political undertones, Tejashwi, the state Assembly’s Opposition leader, was notably absent. Tej Pratap, however, expressed gratitude for his father’s blessings and humorously commented on his brother’s late arrival.
The brothers’ recent cordial meeting, marked by a moment of familial warmth, has been interpreted as a step towards reconciliation within the family.
