Senior leaders from various sectors convened at Shangri-La, New Delhi, for the Amrit Prayas Conclave, focusing on the development of “Middle India,” the often neglected districts of the country. The forum, part of the Amrit Prayas initiative for the Deoria Lok Sabha constituency, aimed to strategize district-level growth and sustainable development models applicable nationwide.
The Vision Address by Shashank Mani, Member of Parliament from Deoria, highlighted a district-centric development approach in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for national transformation. Amrit Prayas was lauded as a platform fostering collaboration among government, industry, and citizens to drive economic and social progress collectively.
Mani emphasized the significance of community participation, stating that the success of Amrit Prayas hinges on active involvement from various stakeholders, advocating for locally driven growth models. The event featured a panel discussion on “Investment in Middle India,” exploring ways to mitigate investment risks in emerging districts through coordinated efforts between the Centre and states.
Saurabh Garg, IAS, Secretary of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), stressed the pivotal role of districts in India’s economic aspirations, emphasizing data-driven governance and private-sector engagement. Initiatives like Amrit Prayas were identified as crucial catalysts for translating national development goals into tangible local progress.
