The leadership dispute in Karnataka has reignited, with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son, Yathindra Siddaramaiah, asserting that the party high command has not accepted calls for a leadership change. Yathindra emphasized that his father will continue as Chief Minister for the full five-year term. This development comes in response to Congress MLA Shivaganga Basavaraj’s support for Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar.
Basavaraj had urged the party high command to address the leadership uncertainty in the state. Yathindra clarified that no leader has proposed removing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah from his position. He highlighted that the high command has not endorsed any efforts to replace the Chief Minister, affirming Siddaramaiah’s continuation for the entire term.
In a separate statement, Minister Priyank Kharge reassured that the party leadership, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, would intervene as needed. Kharge emphasized that discussing such matters in the media serves no constructive purpose. Meanwhile, supporters of Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara advocated for his consideration as the next Chief Minister during his visit to Chikkamagalur.
