Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, set to turn 61 on March 25, has been a prominent figure in state politics. Previously a minister under Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s leadership, Yadav assumed office as the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in December 2023 after securing a third consecutive victory from the Ujjain South Assembly seat.
To mark his birthday, Yadav will release turtles into the Bamner River at the Rani Durgavati Tiger Reserve and inaugurate a soft-release boma for cheetah rehabilitation. This initiative aligns with the state government’s plan to establish Rani Durgavati Sanctuary as a cheetah destination, following similar efforts at Kuno National Park and Gandhi Sagar Wildlife Sanctuary.
The sanctuary, spanning 2,339 square km and connecting 72 villages across Sagar, Damoh, and Narsinghpur districts, is the largest tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh. Home to 32 tigers and a significant wolf population, the sanctuary’s diverse wildlife includes various bird species, tigers, leopards, wolves, bears, and other fauna.
