Chief Minister Mohan Yadav met with Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel in Bhopal to discuss the state government’s key initiatives, including progress on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), which has garnered over nine lakh public suggestions. The Chief Minister highlighted the overwhelming response to the public consultation on the UCC, emphasizing broad public participation and support. He mentioned that the government is now analyzing the feedback to plan the next steps.
The Madhya Pradesh government kickstarted the implementation process of the UCC by forming a committee earlier this year to assess its legal and administrative aspects. This committee sought input from citizens, legal experts, and social organizations to tailor a framework suitable for the state. After months of consultation, the process concluded with more than nine lakh responses received.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yadav updated the Governor on the successful execution of the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, a campaign focused on water conservation and reviving traditional water bodies. Additionally, discussions encompassed preparations for educational and cultural events during the upcoming Guru Purnima Pakhwada. Yadav also mentioned that four agricultural products from Madhya Pradesh recently secured Geographical Indication (GI) tags, aiming to enhance market value and income prospects for farmers.
Further, the Chief Minister elaborated on the expansion of solar energy projects, promotion of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and start-ups, and the state’s endeavors to attract industrial investments and create job opportunities. The Governor commended the government’s developmental efforts and reviewed the progress of the discussed programs.
