Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee while campaigning in West Bengal. Yadav emphasized the importance of the BJP in bringing an end to the current ‘jungle raj’ and fostering development in the state. He highlighted issues of lawlessness and stagnant growth under the TMC rule, stating that people are seeking change and a stable government.

During his campaign in West Bengal, Yadav conducted roadshows and door-to-door outreach in Kamarhati and Kharagpur Sadar. He supported BJP candidates Arup Chowdhury and Dilip Ghosh, urging voters to ensure their victory with a strong mandate. Yadav criticized the TMC government for the slow pace of development, persistent poverty, and unemployment issues, noting that many are compelled to migrate due to limited opportunities and inadequate infrastructure in various areas.

Yadav expressed that the people of Bengal desire freedom from misrule and aspire for development and good governance. He mentioned that welfare schemes would be more efficiently implemented under a BJP-led government. Yadav also highlighted the potential benefits of a “double engine” government, where both the Centre and the state collaborate for accelerated progress, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Addressing concerns about infiltration, Yadav called for stringent measures to prevent illegal entry and ensure proper citizen identification. He identified this as a significant challenge impacting the state’s security and governance. Interacting with local residents during the campaign, Yadav assured them of the BJP’s focus on employment generation, infrastructure development, and improved welfare scheme delivery. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s strong performance in the upcoming elections, anticipating a transformative development phase led by the people of Bengal.

The West Bengal Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in two phases on April 23 and April 29, with the counting set for May 4, as per the Election Commission.
