Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has urged officials to speed up the implementation of renewable energy schemes in the state. Emphasizing the importance of strict timelines and efficient execution, Yadav highlighted the need to provide affordable electricity to farmers and citizens. He stressed that achieving energy security requires disciplined implementation and accountability.
During a review meeting of the New and Renewable Energy Department, Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the significance of expanding solar infrastructure, particularly among farmers. He set a target to connect over two lakh farmers with solar pumps within the current financial year and urged officials to provide full support to beneficiaries. Yadav also called for the scaling up of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana to promote rooftop solar adoption and ease pressure on the grid.
Furthermore, CM Yadav instructed departments to review and enhance annual targets based on demand to ensure maximum coverage of beneficiaries in the shortest possible time. He highlighted the importance of strengthening coordination in key projects, such as the proposed 2,000 MW renewable energy park in Morena, emphasizing the state’s interests as a top priority.
Additionally, Yadav noted that urban local bodies could enhance revenues through improved waste management and solar initiatives. He directed the organization of a training program in Bhopal to enhance their capacity. Officials reported that solar energy projects are rapidly expanding across Madhya Pradesh, aiming to increase installations and enhance access to reliable, low-cost power.
