Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav extended his best wishes to BJP candidates, including party President Nitin Nabin, for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections. Yadav expressed confidence that their presence in the Rajya Sabha would advance national interests. BJP President Hemant Khandelwal also congratulated Nitin Nabin and other nominees for their nominations in the Rajya Sabha polls.
The BJP announced a list of nine candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections, with Nitin Nabin nominated from Bihar. Other nominees include Rahul Sinha from West Bengal and Laxmi Verma from Chhattisgarh. Jogen Mohan and Terash Gowalla will represent Assam in the Upper House.
Manmohan Samal and Sujeet Kumar are nominated from Odisha, while Shivesh Kumar and Sanjay Bhatia will contest from Bihar and Haryana, respectively. The candidates’ names have been approved by the party’s central election committee, as stated by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh.
Notifications for the elections will be issued on February 26, with the last date for nominations set for March 5. Polling is scheduled for March 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by the counting of votes starting at 5 p.m. The election process is expected to conclude by March 20.
