Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed Madhya Pradesh as a top business destination during the Global Investors Summit 2025 in Bhopal. The state, once labeled as “Bimaru,” witnessed a remarkable industrial growth in 2025 under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s leadership. The year was dubbed the “Year of Industries” with innovative strategies to attract investments and create jobs.
The flagship event, “Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2025,” held in Bhopal, drew over 200 Indian companies, global CEOs, and representatives from 50 countries. The summit resulted in investment commitments of Rs 26.61 lakh crore through MoUs, aiming to generate 17.3 lakh jobs. With previous proposals, the total commitments reached Rs 30.77 lakh crore, offering potential for 21.36 lakh job opportunities.
PM Modi introduced 18 new industrial policies during GIS, focusing on business ease, EV manufacturing, and textiles. The state achieved power surplus status, expanded airports, and established multi-modal logistics parks. Chief Minister Yadav emphasized creating local clusters and plug-and-play units to connect youth directly to jobs.
Home Minister Amit Shah commended Madhya Pradesh’s unique approach of organizing sector-specific investment summits for overall state development. He highlighted the significance of these MoUs in fostering large industries and skill development for the youth. The year also saw seven “Regional Industry Conclaves (RICs)” across divisions, generating commitments of Rs 2.46 lakh crore and creating over 1.24 lakh jobs.
The year concluded with the “Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit” in Gwalior, inaugurated by Union Home Minister Shah. The event marked the foundation of 1,655 industrial units worth over Rs 2 lakh crore, expected to provide 1.93 lakh direct jobs. Noteworthy allocations were made in sectors like energy, renewable energy, mining, and tourism. Home Minister Shah praised Chief Minister Yadav’s initiatives for balanced regional development and highlighted the state’s role in driving ‘Viksit Bharat’s growth.
