The Madhya Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, has decided to permit treasury officers to hire vehicles during their working hours. This decision, announced on the occasion of Holi, aims to facilitate the duties of treasury officers in managing the state’s finances. The Finance Department issued orders enabling all Treasury officers to utilize this facility starting from April 1, 2026.
Chief Minister Yadav also declared a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees as a Holi gift. This raise will elevate the DA for employees and pensioners from 55% to 58%. The revised DA will be reflected in the April 2026 salary, to be paid in May 2026, aligning with the government of India’s standards.
In addition to the DA increment, Chief Minister Yadav announced a structured plan for the payment of arrears from July 2025 to March 2026. The arrears will be disbursed in six equal installments, commencing from May 2026. Furthermore, all state pensioners will receive a 58% Dearness Relief, effective from January 2026, with payments starting in February 2026.
Yadav emphasized the significance of Holi as a festival that fosters unity and urged everyone to celebrate it joyfully, emphasizing collective efforts towards the state’s progress and prosperity.
