In preparation for the upcoming festival of Raksha Bandhan, the Madhya Pradesh government is introducing a new public transport initiative aimed at providing safe and reliable travel options for women across the state. The Chief Minister Easy Transport Service (Mukhyamantri Sugam Parivahan Seva) will focus on ensuring comfortable travel for women in state-run buses, addressing the existing lack of public transport, especially in rural areas.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced the upcoming launch of the service, emphasizing the need to enhance public transport infrastructure, which had deteriorated in the past. The scheme, set to begin with high-demand routes, will kick off in the Indore region, with operations under both the Chief Minister Easy Transport Service and the PM e-Bus Seva starting in July.
The initiative includes the deployment of various categories of buses, such as intercity routes, city and suburban services, and interstate routes connecting to neighboring states. Additionally, the plan involves the introduction of electric buses in Indore city and the establishment of numerous routes linking regional headquarters to district headquarters across the state, aiming to enhance women’s mobility and overall public transport efficiency.
The government’s initiative is expected to not only improve women’s access to safe transportation but also enhance connectivity and promote organized public transport services in Madhya Pradesh, ultimately ensuring a memorable and secure travel experience for women during Raksha Bandhan.
