The Madhya Pradesh government has transferred Rs 203.56 crore as social security pension to over 33.92 lakh beneficiaries in the state. This includes senior citizens, widows, differently-abled persons, and others eligible under welfare schemes. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav facilitated the pension distribution for May through direct benefit transfer in a virtual event from his office, ensuring prompt fund delivery to the recipients’ bank accounts.
The monthly pension disbursement is part of the state’s social security framework designed to offer financial aid to vulnerable segments of society. Beneficiaries from various districts, such as senior citizens and women, participated in the virtual program. Chief Minister Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to the welfare of the underprivileged, elderly, and differently-abled individuals.
He stated that social security pensions are not just financial aid but a symbol of the government’s dedication to providing dignity, respect, and security to the less fortunate. The Chief Minister reiterated the state’s resolve to prevent any neglect of poor families or vulnerable individuals. Referring to the Antyodaya principle, he highlighted the aim of welfare schemes to assist those in dire need.
CM Yadav stressed the significance of caring for senior citizens, emphasizing that honoring the elderly and weaker sections aligns with India’s social and cultural values. He described serving senior citizens and supporting vulnerable groups as not just a responsibility but a moral obligation. During the event, the Chief Minister also spotlighted the ongoing welfare efforts of both the Centre and the state government, mentioning initiatives related to food security, housing, healthcare, and other essential services that have notably enhanced the lives of impoverished families.
