The Madhya Pradesh Police have initiated a specialized training program aimed at upgrading VVIP and VIP security protocols. The four-day “VVIP/VIP Security and Protection Course,” inaugurated by Director General of Police Kailash Makwana, focuses on modern security measures and rapid response protocols. The training, scheduled from May 12 to May 15 at the Special Branch Training Institute in Bhopal, emphasizes inter-agency coordination for high-risk protectee duties.
DGP Makwana highlighted the importance of staying updated with evolving threats during the inaugural session. He emphasized that the training aims to equip officers and personnel with theoretical and practical knowledge on standard operating procedures, coordination mechanisms, and modern security measures for safeguarding VIPs and VVIPs. The integration of technology and seamless coordination is crucial for effective protection in today’s scenario.
The course, which involves experts from various units like the Intelligence Wing and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad, will cover topics such as threat perception, convoy sanitization, access control, and emergency drills. By combining classroom teachings with practical exercises, the program seeks to enhance the security framework for VIPs and VVIPs in Madhya Pradesh. The ultimate goal is to standardize operating procedures across districts and improve response times during emergencies involving protected individuals.
Officials disclosed that the training modules will also focus on enhancing coordination among district police, intelligence units, and specialized squads during VVIP movements and public events. The program is designed to ensure a more robust, coordinated, effective, and technologically advanced security setup for VIPs and VVIPs in the state.
