The new academic session in Madhya Pradesh is set to start on June 16, with the state government extending the summer vacation for teachers by seven days due to the prevailing heatwave conditions. Teachers will now resume duties on June 7 instead of June 1 as per the order issued by the School Education Department on Saturday. This decision comes in light of districts in the state experiencing temperatures exceeding 45 degrees Celsius and teachers being occupied with census duties and board examination-related tasks.
The extension of the summer vacation was granted considering the health of teachers and the extreme weather conditions in the state. Additionally, the second phase of the ‘School Chalen Hum’ campaign will kick off on June 16 and run until June 30. This initiative aims to ensure the enrollment of all eligible children and encourage the return of dropout students to school. District Collectors have been instructed by the State Education Centre to organize special activities during this campaign period.
‘Shala Prarambh Utsav’ will be celebrated in all government and Sandipani schools starting June 16, with officials tasked to identify out-of-school children and facilitate their re-enrollment through door-to-door visits. The Child Tracking System on the ‘Hamare Shikshak App’ will be utilized to monitor dropout students, and District Collectors are required to oversee the campaign’s progress at the district level. Moreover, authorities have been directed to ensure the timely distribution of textbooks, complete online data entry regarding textbooks, gather feedback on book quality, and address pending tasks related to the co-location of Anganwadi centers with primary schools.
