Maharashtra secured a victory over Rajasthan, while Karnataka dominated Kerala in the 8th edition of the Nagesh Trophy — Men’s National T20 Cricket Tournament for Blind 2025 at the Railway Sports Ground in Hubali. The matches showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, highlighting the talent and competitive spirit in Indian blind cricket.
In a thrilling encounter, Maharashtra defeated Rajasthan by three wickets after Rajasthan posted 158/8 in 20 overs. Maharashtra successfully chased the target in 19.5 overs, with B3 Anil Belsare’s 76-run innings earning him the Player of the Match title. Karnataka, on the other hand, outperformed Kerala by a massive 174 runs in Hubli, posting a formidable 320/2 in 20 overs.
Karnataka’s Sunil Ramesh’s outstanding 186 off 78 balls and Bhaskar B2’s 59 off 34 balls were instrumental in setting the imposing target. Despite efforts from Kerala’s Ahad B3 (49)* and Arjun P (31), they could only manage 146/7 in 20 overs. The disciplined bowling by Karnataka, led by Lokesha B2 and B1-Basappa Waddagolu, dismantled Kerala’s chase. Sunil Ramesh was named Player of the Match for his exceptional performance.
The Nagesh Trophy is India’s premier national-level T20 cricket tournament for visually impaired men’s teams, organized by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI). The tournament, named after the late S. P. Nagesh, aims to promote blind cricket development in India and has seen increased participation and competitiveness over the years.
