Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar, praised the special court’s decision to sentence the perpetrator in the Nasrapur rape and murder case to death. They highlighted the importance of the swift judgment in showcasing the state’s zero-tolerance stance against crimes targeting women and children.
CM Fadnavis expressed contentment with the verdict, affirming that the court’s ruling was just. He emphasized that individuals committing such abhorrent acts should not coexist in society and commended the court for its decision.
The Chief Minister personally contacted Pune District Superintendent of Police and Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar to commend them on the successful prosecution. He lauded the law enforcement and investigative agencies for their efficient handling of the trial and investigation within a short timeframe.
Deputy CM Shinde, in a statement to the press, issued a strong warning to criminals, asserting that the state will not provide refuge to perpetrators of violence. He emphasized that the verdict signifies the delivery of justice and serves as a clear deterrent to potential offenders targeting women and children.
Shinde reiterated the government’s commitment, led by CM Fadnavis, to prioritize the safety and security of women. He underscored the administration’s dedication to expediting investigations, facilitating fast-track judicial processes, and ensuring severe legal consequences for offenders to create a secure environment for women and girls.
