Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12-year tenure, hailing it as a comprehensive transformation for India. Fadnavis noted that PM Modi has surpassed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s record to become India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, receiving accolades for his leadership. Under PM Modi’s guidance, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has achieved remarkable political and developmental milestones, outshining past achievements of the Congress party.
Highlighting India’s economic growth, Fadnavis pointed out that the country is currently the fastest-growing major economy globally, attributing this success to PM Modi’s leadership. He emphasized the NDA’s governance in 22 states, covering 80% of India’s landmass, a feat unparalleled even during Congress’s peak. Fadnavis expressed pride in the BJP forming a government in West Bengal, the birthplace of party ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee, showcasing the NDA’s expanding political influence.
Fadnavis lauded the significant strides made in poverty alleviation and women’s empowerment under PM Modi’s administration. He highlighted the upliftment of over 25 crore people from extreme poverty, describing it as a remarkable achievement. Additionally, he mentioned the ‘Lakhpati Didis’ program, which has enabled three crore women to attain financial self-reliance, with plans to empower six crore more women in the future.
The Chief Minister underscored the government’s financial stability, citing India’s ability to sustain its economy for 11 months with the current import cover. He also mentioned the substantial progress in infrastructure development, with capital expenditure increasing from Rs 2 lakh crore to Rs 12 lakh crore. Fadnavis praised the administration’s accountability, noting its clean record on corruption and the implementation of welfare policies aimed at ensuring long-term dignity for citizens.
