Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar has not resigned from her Rajya Sabha membership, clarified Maharashtra NCP chief Sunil Tatkare. During her Delhi visit, there was no discussion of her resignation, as confirmed by Tatkare.
Addressing rumors of Pawar’s resignation, Tatkare emphasized that she remains a Rajya Sabha member and that the speculation is unfounded. He explained that Pawar’s meeting with top officials during her visit was a customary gesture and not related to any resignation plans.
Tatkare highlighted that even if Pawar were to take up a ministerial role, she has a six-month window to become a member of the required House. He cited the example of Ajit Pawar, who held a Lok Sabha membership while serving as a minister in Maharashtra.
Sunetra Pawar, in assuming her role as Deputy Chief Minister, expressed her commitment to upholding her late husband Ajit Pawar’s principles. She pledged to work diligently for the betterment of Maharashtra, focusing on the welfare of its people.
