The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Maharashtra has initiated a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state’s electoral roll. This citizen-centric effort aims to ensure accuracy and transparency in the voter list. The Election Commission of India has set a specific timeline for this revision, running from late June to October 2026.
A total of 1,00,253 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been deployed for this task, with additional personnel on standby to meet deadlines. Political parties have appointed 2,05,254 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) to oversee the process. Existing voters only need to verify their details and submit the Enumeration Form to their BLO.
The door-to-door verification phase begins imminently, with a strict schedule outlined for the upcoming months. Activities include house visits, form distribution, objection filing, and final publication of the Electoral Rolls. Election officials are fully engaged in ensuring a smooth process and are conducting voter awareness campaigns to encourage participation.
The Deputy Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra, Vikram Nikam, has urged all eligible voters to actively engage in this revision process. The aim is to include all eligible voters accurately while eliminating any incorrect entries from the Electoral Roll.
