Maharashtra’s National Cadet Corps (NCC) cycling expedition team, themed ‘Shaurya Ke Kadam, Kranti Ki Aur’ (Steps of Valour, Towards Revolution), arrived in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, during their journey from Pune to New Delhi. Led by Brigadier Sachin Gawali, the team of 20 members was warmly welcomed by the 15th Madhya Pradesh Battalion NCC at Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Agriculture University.
The expedition, inspired by Peshwa Bajirao I’s route, aims to promote discipline, nationalism, fitness, and social responsibility. Interacting with Army officials, NCC teams, and local youth, the team shared the purpose behind their long journey. The campaign, part of the ‘NCC PM Rally -2026’ cycling initiative, commenced from Pune’s Delhi Darwaza of Shaniwarwada on December 24.
Drawing motivation from the historic military campaign of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao I, the expedition emphasizes national unity, physical fitness, road safety, and civic responsibility. Junior under officer Rohan expressed pride in being part of this rare opportunity, highlighting the significance of recalling India’s glorious history.
The cycling team, traversing through Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, will conclude their 1,680 km journey in Delhi on January 16, 2026, to participate in the Prime Minister Rally.
