A significant burglary took place at a mobile showroom in the Daniyawan police station area of Patna district. Unidentified criminals used a gas cutter to break into Neha Mobile Corner, located in Galaxy Tower behind the State Bank of India branch. They escaped with cash and electronic goods valued at nearly Rs 40 lakh, causing concern among local traders and shopkeepers.
The shop owner, Surendra Kumar, closed the showroom around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. Police suspect that between 1:00 a.m. and the early hours of Monday, a group of four to five miscreants arrived with a gas cutter. They cut through the shop’s shutter and iron grille to access the showroom and warehouse.
The burglars made away with approximately Rs 3.20 lakh in cash and a variety of expensive electronic items, including Apple iPhones, Vivo smartphones, HP laptops, televisions, batteries, and other merchandise. The theft was discovered on Monday morning when an acquaintance informed Surendra Kumar about the damaged shutter, prompting him to contact the Dial-112 emergency service.
Upon inspection by police officials, it was revealed that the safe’s cash and a substantial amount of electronic goods were stolen. Senior police officers, including Fatuha SDPO-2 Sanjeev Kumar and Circle Inspector Maya Kumari, along with Daniyawan police station officials, visited the crime scene promptly upon notification.
Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the dog squad were summoned to assist in the investigation due to the scale of the theft. Police are currently gathering forensic evidence and reviewing CCTV footage from the showroom and neighboring establishments to identify the culprits. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of four to five individuals in the burglary, with efforts underway to apprehend them and recover the stolen property.
