A significant administrative reshuffle has been announced by the Odisha state government following Anu Garg assuming office as the new Chief Secretary. This move, one of the first under Garg’s leadership, aims to enhance governance and departmental coordination. Deoranjan Kumar Singh, a 1993-batch IAS officer, will take over as the state’s new Development Commissioner.
The reshuffle includes Satyabrata Sahu, a 1991-batch IAS officer, who will now serve as Member, Board of Revenue, Odisha, Cuttack. Hemant Sharma, a 1995-batch IAS officer, has been assigned additional responsibilities as ACS, Home Department. Shubha Sarma, a 1999-batch IAS officer, will now hold the position of Principal Secretary in the Water Resources Department.
Furthermore, Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma, a 1999-batch IAS officer, has been appointed as Principal Secretary in the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department. Rajesh Prabhakar Patil, a 2005-batch officer, will now take on additional duties as SRC and MD OSDMA. Additionally, Madhumita Rath, an IAS officer from the 2015 batch, has been appointed as Collector and District Magistrate in Nayagarh.
Akshay Sunil Agrawal, the current Nayagarh collector from the 2019 batch, will assume the role of Collector & District Magistrate in Gajapati. The General Administration & Public Grievance Department issued a detailed notification regarding these changes.
