A male passenger was apprehended at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata for reportedly molesting a female co-passenger during a Hanoi-Kolkata flight. The accused, a Bihar native, was accused of inappropriate touching by the woman seated beside him. The young woman, who boarded a flight from Hanoi to Kolkata, was distressed when the man began harassing her as the plane was about to land.
The woman raised an alarm inside the aircraft, prompting the cabin crew to intervene swiftly and relocate the accused to ensure the woman’s safety. Upon landing, the crew handed the accused, identified as Md Abdur Rahman, to CISF officials, who then transferred him to the airport police station. Rahman has been arrested and charged with molestation, with investigations ongoing.
Authorities have filed a case against Rahman, who is set to appear before the Barrackpore court. The incident has left the woman traumatized, highlighting concerns about passenger safety during flights. In a separate incident at the same airport, a bomb scare disrupted a Shillong-bound IndiGo flight, leading to a thorough search of the aircraft after a note mentioning a bomb was found in the lavatory. Following security clearance, the flight resumed its journey to Shillong.
