Three weeks post the Assembly election results, Mamata Banerjee reiterated her claim that the Trinamool Congress did not truly lose in West Bengal and accused the Election Commission of aiding the BJP’s victory. She specifically mentioned feeling defeated “by force” in the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency.
Addressing the Falta Assembly by-election results day, Mamata Banerjee criticized Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, challenging the legitimacy of his win in Bhabanipur and calling for forensic and EVM reports. She alleged that since the BJP took power, there has been a wave of terror against Trinamool Congress members, with arrests and looting of party offices.
Mamata Banerjee further accused the BJP of state terrorism, claiming that Trinamool Congress workers were being targeted, with arrests, suicides, and forced resignations. She highlighted disruptions in governance, citing obstacles in major civic bodies’ development work, including the Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
The Trinamool Congress leader criticized Suvendu Adhikari for the current state of affairs, contrasting it with her administration’s peaceful tenure. She lamented the lack of fair conduct in the recent elections, alleging deliberate exclusion of voters, rigging, and data hacking. Mamata Banerjee also accused the current administration of being outsiders causing distress to the people of Bengal.
