Amidst discontent within the Trinamool Congress following their defeat in the West Bengal Assembly elections, Mamata Banerjee, the party’s leader, stated that those considering leaving the party could do so without hindrance. She emphasized that those who remain loyal during this challenging period will be valued assets for rebuilding the party. Banerjee instructed party officials to prepare reports on restarting local public engagement initiatives within a week.
During a recent meeting, Mamata Banerjee urged party members to conduct meetings at various levels to adapt to the altered political landscape in West Bengal. Additionally, she requested district leaders to provide her with a list of individuals reportedly displaced post-election. She assigned Chandrima Bhattacharya, a former State Minister for Finance, to oversee legal aid for those affected by post-poll violence.
Asserting her authority within the party, Mamata Banerjee emphasized that she is the final decision-maker on organizational matters. She encouraged party members to address grievances internally rather than airing them publicly or through the media.
