On the 129th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called for the immediate declassification of all files related to the Indian patriot by the Union government. Banerjee highlighted the unresolved mystery of Netaji’s disappearance and emphasized that the West Bengal government had already declassified state archives on Netaji.
Banerjee also emphasized Netaji’s message of communal harmony, urging the public to honor his legacy by promoting unity and brotherhood. She stressed that Netaji envisioned a nation where people of all religions, castes, and genders stood together in solidarity, as exemplified by his Azad Hind Fauj.
Coinciding with Saraswati Puja, a significant festival in West Bengal, Netaji’s birth anniversary holds special importance in the state, especially among students and youth who revere Devi Saraswati as the Goddess of learning and music. Banerjee reiterated that true homage to Netaji lies in upholding his principles of unity and inclusivity.
