A man from Basrehar village in Etawah district, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested after allegedly raping a seven-year-old girl shortly after the incident. The accused reportedly enticed the girl with chocolates and committed the crime in daylight before fleeing the scene. The victim’s family promptly lodged a complaint, leading to a swift police response and the arrest of the accused.
The victim’s father recounted that his daughters, aged seven and five, were playing outside when a neighbor lured them into his house under the guise of offering chocolates. Subsequently, the man sexually assaulted the elder daughter. Upon returning home distressed, the girls revealed the ordeal, prompting the family to report the incident to the authorities.
Following the complaint, law enforcement officials, along with a forensic team, gathered evidence to support the case. Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shreeshchand disclosed that the accused, identified as Prashant, was apprehended after a search operation was initiated. During a confrontation at Kalla Bagh intersection, the accused fired at the police, resulting in his injury and subsequent arrest.
The police recovered a country-made pistol and a spent cartridge from the accused. Prashant, who sustained injuries during the encounter, was taken to the district hospital for medical treatment, while the victim underwent a medical examination to gather further evidence.
