A man, identified as Teja, passed away due to injuries sustained during a mob assault after he slit a woman’s throat for turning down his proposal. The incident occurred in Jadcherla town in Telangana’s Mahabubnagar district. Teja, aged 28, lost his life while receiving medical treatment at a hospital in the town.
The victim, Y. Vaishnavi, a 21-year-old receptionist at a local school, was brutally attacked by Teja as she walked home from work. The assailant targeted her just 100 meters away from her residence in Jadcherla. Vaishnavi succumbed to her severe injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
Teja, a resident of Hyderabad, was apprehended by bystanders who witnessed the attack. They restrained him, pelted him with stones, and inflicted critical injuries before the police intervened. Teja was later transferred to Mahabubnagar Government Medical College Hospital, where he passed away the following day.
According to police reports, Teja and Vaishnavi were previously acquainted through a school where she worked in Hyderabad. Despite Vaishnavi rejecting his romantic advances, Teja alleged that she had deceived him by accepting money and later avoiding him.
