A tragic incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district as a 35-year-old man, Balram Singh Kushwaha, allegedly murdered his wife, Ravita Kushwaha (32), and their two sons, Aarav (8) and Debu (5), using an axe before taking his own life by jumping in front of a train. The police suspect that the crime could have been driven by ongoing domestic discord or financial issues, although the exact motive is yet to be determined.
The horrifying event occurred late at night in Kishanpur village under Basaiya police station limits. Balram first attacked his sleeping wife in the courtyard, then turned the axe on his two young sons, causing fatal head injuries to all three victims. The bodies remained undiscovered overnight due to the property’s high boundary wall.
Neighbors grew concerned the next morning upon finding the gate locked from outside and, upon investigation, discovered the tragic scene inside the house, prompting them to alert the authorities. Balram’s body was later found on the railway tracks at Shikarpur railway crossing, where he had reportedly taken his own life.
The police, upon receiving the information, swiftly responded to the scene, securing the area, collecting evidence, and launching a thorough investigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhadoria mentioned that a forensic team had examined the crime scene and gathered crucial evidence, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to establish the precise motive behind the heinous act.
During initial inquiries, it was revealed that Balram, who worked as a marble polisher in Bengaluru, had recently returned to his hometown. Reports suggest that he was distressed after receiving a WhatsApp video of his wife dancing during a Bhagwat Katha program. The couple had been living separately following frequent disputes, with Ravita returning from her parental home just three days before the tragedy.
Authorities are diligently exploring all potential angles, including domestic conflicts and personal issues, while awaiting post-mortem reports, forensic analysis, and the completion of the investigation before taking further action.
