Amid the controversy over Bharat Tiwari’s death in Bhojpur, it has been disclosed that his body had five bullet wounds. The post-mortem report accessed by authorities outlines the locations of the bullet injuries. The report specifies that the bullets hit various parts of Tiwari’s thighs and legs.

The East Champaran police have taken action against Constable Ashish Kumar Tiwari for making public statements related to the case. Ashish Kumar Tiwari, who claimed to be Bharat Tiwari’s brother, spoke about the encounter case on social media and to the press. The police administration suspended him following an internal investigation.

Residents of Bilauti village in Bhojpur are honoring Bharat Tiwari’s memory by linking his name to a new settlement in the area. A signboard has been erected at the location of Tiwari’s death, expressing remembrance for his sacrifice. The proposed settlement is named Shaheed Bharat Nagar Javainya and aims to accommodate families displaced from Javainya village.

Local residents and activists are advocating for the settlement to be officially named Bharat Nagar in memory of Bharat Tiwari. They highlight Tiwari’s efforts in addressing local issues and supporting villagers. The community is urging the Bihar government to recognize the settlement’s name and address the concerns raised by Tiwari.

The Yuva Parivartan Foundation in Shahpur is mentioned on the signboard at the site, although the naming initiative is currently a local endeavor. Despite local efforts, there has been no official confirmation or government endorsement of the proposed settlement name. Bharat Tiwari lost his life in an encounter in Bilauti village, with police claiming self-defense as the reason for opening fire.

The family of Bharat Tiwari disputes the police account, alleging that he had already discarded his weapon before being shot, a claim supported by video evidence. The incident has attracted significant public and political interest, leading to a judicial inquiry by retired Patna High Court judge Vinod Kumar Sinha. The family continues to demand accountability from the police personnel involved and seeks an impartial investigation into the case.
