A man, B. Rajkumar, who was on the run for two days after killing six people, including his wife, two sons, and three others, was discovered dead in Penjerla near Hyderabad. The 29-year-old’s body was found in a real estate venture, with a bottle of poison nearby, indicating a suspected suicide. Police, including Future City Police Commissioner Tarun Joshi, responded to the scene, where the body was identified.
A massive manhunt had been underway for Rajkumar, who committed the murders in two separate attacks in Rangareddy district. The police investigation revealed that Rajkumar allegedly carried out the killings within two hours at two locations before contacting his father to confess and express his intention to commit suicide. The accused had a history of legal issues, having been booked under the POCSO Act in May for alleged harassment of a minor girl.
Rajkumar’s violent acts, believed to be a revenge-driven response to the criminal case against him, have sparked public outrage. Following the incident, the investigating officer in the POCSO case was suspended due to alleged failure to apprehend the accused despite reported threats. The tragic events have left the community in shock and raised concerns about the effectiveness of law enforcement in preventing such heinous crimes.
