The Manipur government has assured the public that there is no scarcity of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, petrol, and diesel in the state. The Director of the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Department, Yumnam Nelson, emphasized that strict actions will be taken against black marketing and hoarding of petroleum products.
Nelson highlighted that misinformation regarding the shortage of petroleum products in Manipur is misleading consumers and causing unnecessary panic. The State Level Coordinator of Indian Oil Corporation Limited in Imphal has confirmed the abundant availability of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, petrol, and diesel in the state.
Indian Oil Corporation Limited reiterated that there is a sufficient stock of petroleum products in Manipur, ensuring smooth distribution without any disruptions. Consumers are urged not to panic or hoard Liquefied Petroleum Gas cylinders and petroleum products to prevent accidents and safety hazards.
The Consumer Affairs, Food, and Public Distribution Director warned of strict consequences for individuals or entities involved in black marketing, hoarding, or any malpractices related to petroleum product sales. Nelson prohibited the purchase of petrol and diesel in containers or jerrycans and stated that legal actions would be taken against oil pumps and retail outlets violating government regulations.
