In a recent development within the Punjab Congress, Manish Tewari, a three-time Member of Parliament, expressed dissatisfaction with the party’s restructuring. Tewari felt sidelined as new working presidents and poll panels were appointed for Punjab, excluding him from key roles.
Tewari, who has been a loyal Congress member for 45 years, hinted at feeling overlooked in a cryptic social media post. While six out of seven Congress MPs from Punjab were given election-related responsibilities, Tewari, known for changing constituencies, was notably absent from the list.
The All India Congress Committee’s announcement of the Punjab Congress poll panels and organizational changes for the upcoming 2027 elections triggered Tewari’s strong reaction. The appointments, approved by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, included key positions like Campaign Committee Chairperson and Working Presidents for the Punjab unit.
