A massive fire engulfed the multi-storied Lemon Green Restaurant in Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday morning. Three individuals have been rescued and hospitalized, with efforts ongoing to locate others. Ten fire tenders were dispatched promptly to the scene upon receiving the alert, successfully bringing the fire under control.
AAP leader Somnath Bharti reported a significant fire incident in a multi-storied building in Hauzrani, his assembly constituency, expressing concerns about potential casualties, particularly among South African nationals. Search and rescue operations are currently in progress, with further updates awaited.
The recent fire incident follows a previous day’s event where ten individuals sustained injuries due to a suspected LPG cylinder explosion leading to a building collapse in Delhi’s Mukundpur area. The Delhi Fire Service promptly responded to the distress call reporting the explosion and subsequent structural collapse, initiating rescue operations immediately.
Initial reports suggest that the explosion occurred at a building utilized as a utensil polishing facility, with indications pointing towards an LPG cylinder blast as the probable trigger for the collapse. The blast’s impact was significant, resulting in the collapse of a single-storey structure covering an area of nearly 250 square yards. Authorities are awaiting additional details on the explosion’s cause and the status of the injured individuals.
