Veteran actor Meenakshi Seshadri recently reminisced about her time filming the iconic movie Damini, celebrating its 33rd anniversary. She shared a behind-the-scenes moment while shooting the song “Jabse Tumko Dekha Hai Sanam,” highlighting how Rishi Kapoor’s assistance made a challenging shot easier. In a social media post, Meenakshi described the demanding opening shot of the song, where she sat on a moving car in Mysore’s lush surroundings, requiring strength and balance to appear relaxed and romantic on screen.
Meenakshi praised Rishi Kapoor for his skillful driving and coordination with the camera crew, which facilitated the shoot and ensured her stability during the difficult sequence. Reflecting on Damini’s 33rd anniversary, she emphasized the film’s intense drama and enduring music, particularly mentioning the melodious song “Jabse Tumko Dekha Hai Sanam” shot amidst the picturesque greenery of Mysore. She highlighted the challenges of the opening shot, likening it to a stunt that demanded agility to maintain composure while exuding a romantic aura.
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Damini, released in 1993, featured a stellar cast including Meenakshi Seshadri, Rishi Kapoor, Sunny Deol, Amrish Puri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Rohini Hattangadi.
