A collision between a mini truck and a moving train occurred near Laipuli in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Saturday afternoon, causing significant damage to the vehicle. The incident happened close to Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya around 2 p.m. when the mini truck tried to cross a railway track as a train was passing through the area. Despite the train having the green signal and moving along its designated route, the mini truck driver attempted to cross the track, leading to the collision.

The impact of the collision was loud, alerting people in the vicinity, who rushed to the scene. Local residents, along with railway officials and police, arrived promptly to assess the situation and take necessary actions. The mini truck suffered extensive damage and was dragged some distance by the train, as seen in visuals from the site showing the vehicle badly mangled.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident, including whether safety barriers were in place at the crossing and if the driver ignored warning signals. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported in the incident. Railway authorities have emphasized the importance of following safety rules at railway crossings and advised against attempting to cross tracks when trains are nearby. Negligence at railway crossings is highlighted as a significant cause of accidents, urging the public to stay vigilant to prevent such incidents in the future.
