The Ministry of Women and Child Development is accepting applications for its internship program for women aged 21 to 40 residing in non-tier-I cities and rural areas. The program aims to familiarize participants with the Ministry’s policies and programs, encouraging their involvement in enhancing scheme implementation and engaging in policy processes.
Women students, scholars, social activists, and teachers associated with any academic or non-academic institution can apply for the program. Interested candidates can apply online through the Internship Programme portal at http://wcd.intern.nic.in.
The internship program consists of four terms throughout the financial year, each lasting two months. Applications for each term are accepted two months prior to its start date, between the 1st and 10th of the month. Once selected, candidates cannot reapply for subsequent terms.
Selected interns will engage in pilot projects or micro-studies related to the Ministry’s ongoing activities. The program aims to harness young talent to enhance scheme implementation and involve them in policy processes, fostering research and interaction on government initiatives.
The initiative also promotes meaningful interaction with Ministry officials, other line Ministries, and stakeholders to support women and children’s well-being and empowerment, bridging information gaps on relevant issues in the country.
