Mirra Andreeva clinched the Adelaide International title by defeating Victoria Mboko 6–3, 6–1, showcasing a dominant performance. Despite an initial 3–0 deficit in the opening set, Andreeva rallied back, winning 12 of the final 13 games in just 64 minutes.
Andreeva’s exceptional play extended beyond the final, with a total of 21 service breaks in four matches during the tournament. Her strong serving, particularly winning 89 of 125 first-serve points, contributed to her victory. The win marks her fourth WTA Tour title and her first at the WTA 500 level.
With this triumph, Andreeva is poised to climb to No. 7 in the PIF WTA Rankings, surpassing Jasmine Paolini. Meanwhile, despite the loss, Mboko will reach a career-high No. 16 ranking before her Australian Open debut, facing Emerson Jones in the first round.
Andreeva’s impressive resume now includes various titles and achievements, including a silver medal in doubles at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is set to kick off her Australian Open journey against Donna Vekic, aiming to replicate her past successes in Melbourne.
