Australia’s Mitchell Starc has been honored with the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for his exceptional performance against England in the Ashes 2025-26. Starc, aged 35, stood out during the Ashes series by claiming 31 wickets and making two half-centuries, earning him the Player of the Series accolade. His remarkable all-round display included 16 wickets and 139 runs in three tests in December.
Expressing his pride in receiving the award, Starc highlighted the significance of his achievement following Australia’s triumph in the Ashes on home soil. He expressed gratitude for contributing to the iconic series victory in front of their supporters, emphasizing the team’s collective effort and success in recent years. Starc also underlined the team’s focus on maintaining their performance level for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship Final.
Starc surpassed competitors Justin Greaves from West Indies and Jacob Duffy from New Zealand to clinch the award. Greaves impressed with 283 runs at an average of 56.60 in New Zealand, notably scoring an unbeaten 202 in the first Test at Christchurch. Meanwhile, Duffy led New Zealand’s bowling attack against West Indies, claiming 23 wickets at an impressive average of 15.43 across three matches, contributing significantly to his team’s series victory.
