Actor-turned-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mithun Chakraborty fell ill during an election campaign in West Bengal’s Murshidabad district. The incident occurred while a roadshow was being held in support of BJP candidate Subrata Mitra from the Baharampur Assembly constituency. Chakraborty, who was part of the roadshow, suddenly fell ill and had to be taken elsewhere for rest.
The BJP leaders mentioned that Chakraborty’s health issue led to him being moved from the event for a break. Despite his absence, the roadshow continued smoothly with other party members. Eyewitnesses reported that Chakraborty’s health deteriorated due to the intense heat in the region, causing fatigue and discomfort.
Chakraborty’s health concerns are not new, as he had a previous hospitalization a few months ago. Despite doctor’s advice, he continued his political engagements, leading to questions about his campaign schedule. In Baharampur, BJP’s Subrata Mitra is contesting against Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Trinamool Congress’ Naru Gopal Mukherjee in the upcoming Assembly elections.
