Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma highlighted the importance of improving financial literacy, especially in rural regions, and the necessity of accessible banking services for the people. He praised Mizoram Rural Bank during the Mizoram Rural Bank Branch Managers’ Conclave 2026 in Aizawl for its significant role in the state’s development. Lalduhoma commended the bank’s growth and its remarkable Credit-Deposit ratio, reflecting its commitment to community economic progress.
The Chief Minister acknowledged the pivotal role of branch managers in implementing government initiatives at the grassroots level, particularly emphasizing flagship programs like Bana Kaih Hand Holding. He expressed optimism about the bank’s potential to contribute further to the state’s advancement and encouraged its continued exceptional performance while expanding services to meet public demands.
Sheryl L. Vanchhong, Chairman of Mizoram Rural Bank, discussed the bank’s achievements over the past year and thanked the Chief Minister for his support. Established in 1983, Mizoram Rural Bank is jointly owned by the Government of India, State Bank of India, and the Mizoram government. Operating with 2 Regional Offices and 106 branches, the bank, with 491 employees, exceeded its financial targets in the last fiscal year, recording substantial growth rates in deposits and advances.
